TheR 1200 GS Exclusive is first and foremost a specific color, completed with a large logo painted on the fuel tank. As on the Rally, the radiator covers are made of stainless steel. - Seit über 35 Jahren steht das Kürzel GS für eine unvergleichliche Erfolgsgeschichte. BMW schreibt sie mit dem neuen Modelljahrgang der GS fort, die noch einmal ein bisschen mehr kann. Im Rahmen der Euro-4-Umstellung bleibt es aber bei 92 kW 125 PS und 125 Newtonmetern Drehmoment. Nach vier Jahren gibt es ab März unter anderem eine neu gestaltete und deutlich kompaktere Kühlerblenden, geänderte Kühlluftführungen, neue Tanksverkleidungen für noch besseren Knieschluss und größere Winglets neben der Scheibe. Kundenbefragungen haben ergeben, dass sich einige GS-Käufer eine noch stärkere Touring- und andere wiederum eine noch größere Geländeausrichtung der Allrounderin wünschen. Neben der Basisversion und der Adventure gibt es deswegen künftig noch die Exclusive für die komfortorientiertere Klientel und die Rallye für den besseren Offroadeinsatz. BMW spricht von Stylingpaketen, was zumindest bei der Rallye fast schon ein wenig untertrieben klingt. Die optischen Unterschiede der beiden neuen GS-Abkömmlinge sind schnell ausgemacht Beide haben einen schwarzen statt silbernen Motor und Antriebsstrang, einen andersfarbig lackierten Rahmen achatgrau beziehungsweise cordobablau und tragen die Typenbezeichnung in groß dimensionierten Lettern auf dem Tank statt kleiner auf der Kühlerblende, die hier in beiden Fällen außerdem aus Edelstahl besteht. Zudem haben Exclusive und Rallye exklusive Lackierungen Ice Chocolat und auffälliges Lupinblau mit Weiß und Rot sowie gold lackierte Bremssättel. Die Rallye hat ein kleineres Windschild, Enduro-Fußrasten, einen erhöherbaren Fußbremshebel für den Geländeritt im Stehen und eine einteilige Sitzbank, damit der Fahrer sich weiter hinten positionieren kann, um im Zweifelsfall mehr Gewicht aufs Hinterrad zu bringen. Nur ihr vorbehalten sind außerdem die schwarzen Kreuzspeichenräder. Auf Wunsch ist ein so genanntes Sportfahrwerk mit härteren Federn und längerem Federweg sowie zwei Zentimetern mehr Bodenfreiheit erhältlich. Außerdem können Stollenreifen ab Werk bestellt werden. BMW lässt dem Fahrer grundsätzlich Spielraum Die wichtigsten Veränderungen stecken jedoch im Innern. Als Sonderausstattung ist neben den serienmäßigen Fahrprogrammen "Road" und "Rain" mit automatischer Stabilitätskontrolle ASC das Programm "Pro" erhältlich. Das bringt die zusätzlichen Betriebszustände "Dynamic" mit spontanerer Gasannahme sowie "Enduro" mit gelockertem ABS und weiteren spezifischen Abstimmungen der Regelsysteme. Aus der ASC wird dann die DTC, die auch in Schräglagen ansprechende dynamische Traktionskontrolle. © BMW R 1200 GS Exclusive Zoom Mit an Bord geholt wird das kurventaugliche ABS Pro mit dynamischen Bremslicht und eine einfach per Zug am Bremshebel aktivierbare Berganfahrhilfe, die das Zurückrollen des Motorrads an Steigungen verhindert. Über den mitgelieferten Codierungsstecker sind dann noch die Einstellungen "Dynamic Pro" und "Enduro Pro" abrufbar, die weitergehende individuelle Anpassungen an die gewünschte Fahrcharakteristik erlauben und im letzteren Fall auch das ABS am Hinterrad deaktiviert. Dabei lässt BMW dem Fahrer grundsätzlich Spielraum. So kann beispielsweise auch in der Standardeinstellung statt der hinterlegten Dämpfung "Road" alternativ "Dynamic" mit strafferer Federung gewählt werden. Ebenfalls als Sonderausstattung ab Werk gibt es die nächste Generation des elektronischen Fahrwerks Dynamic ESA, das nicht nur automatisch die Dämpfung dem Straßenbelag und dem Fahrstil anpasst, sondern auch gleich noch den Beladungszustand misst und beim Losfahren die hintere Federvorspannung automatisch darauf einstellt. Wer will, kann aber auch per Knopfdruck das Heck anheben für den Geländeritt oder absenken für besseren Stand. Offroad kann die Rallye alles ein bisschen besser als die Standardversion Die GS wirkt im Stand nach wie vor schwerer und wuchtiger als sie sich fährt. Eines ihrer Geheimnisse dürfte ihre überraschende Handlichkeit sein. Die wird nicht nur durch die neue ESA-Generation noch einmal gesteigert, sondern auch durch eine breitere Auswahl an Sitzhöhen und -varianten bis hin zur Fahrwerktieferlegung. So bietet BMWs Zweirad-Bestseller nun für nahezu jeden Fahrer und jede Fahrerin das passende Package. Allüren irgendwelcher Art sind der R 1200 GS ohnehin fremd. Die automatische Dämpferanpassung beugt unliebsamen Überraschungen effektiver vor, und die Telelever-Führung bietet nach wie vor die beste Vorderrad-Rückmeldung, die wir kennen. © BMW R 1200 GS Zoom Und was auf der Straße funktioniert, das klappt auch offroad. Hier kann die Rallye alles noch ein bisschen besser als die Standardversion. Verlassen kann sich der GS-Nutzer auch abseits des Asphalts auf ein stimmiges Konzept. Vor allem der schon früh ausreichend Drehmoment liefernde Boxermotor hilft, sich auch in unwegsameren Terrain in erster Linie auf den Weg zu konzentrieren und sich keine großen Gedanken um den richtigen Gang machen zu müssen. Sollte dennoch ein Wechsel ratsam erscheinen oder nötig sein, so genügt beinahe schon allein leichtes seitliches Berühren des Schalthebels. Hier hat BMW schon mit der letzten Modellüberarbeitung zum August vergangenen Jahres die Schaltwalzenbetätigung und die Getriebewellen nochmals verfeinert. Und wer angesichts der neuen Auswahl eine Qual spürt, der darf beruhigt sein. Die GS ist modular aufgebaut - und wenn es denn partout das absolut ansprechende Blau der Rallye sein muss, es aber eigentlich gar nicht ins Gelände gehen soll, dann lässt sich zum Beispiel auch diese Variante mit der zweigeteilten Tourensitzbank und dem höheren Windschild sowie dem fehlenden Hauptständer ausrüsten. New packages, Rallye and Exclusive, for BMW’s best seller For 2017 BMW is offering its ultimate ADV bike with two new packages, Rallye and Exclusive, that come in some very eye-catching livery. The new GS also meets Euro 4 emissions standards while maintaining the same engine performance. Powered by the same 1170cc air/liquid-cooled boxer Twin as the 2016 model, the 2017 GS now has an altered catalytic converter for meeting the latest EU4 requirements while still outputting a claimed 125 hp at 7,750 rpm and 92 f torque at 6,500 rpm real-world numbers from MotoGP Motorwerks’ dyno were 105 hp at 8,300 rpm and 77 of torque at 6,800 rpm during our 2016 Wire-Wheel Adventure Shootout. Previously announced for all 2017 R1200 models is the addition of judder dampers on the transmission output shaft formerly standard equipment for just the R1200GS Adventure, along with revised selector drum actuators, transmission shafts and transmission shaft bearing. The R1200GS Rallye comes outfitted with a rallye seat, sports windshield, radiator and frame guards, wide enduro footrests, cross-spoke wheels, stiffer suspension, knobby tires are optional. The Rallye model is dressed in Lupine Blue metallic, with clear over-painted deco elements on the fuel tank, a Cordoba Blue frame, and black drivetrain. The new R1200GS comes with two standard riding modes Rain and Road as well as Automatic Stability Control ASC. Optional for 2017 are Riding Modes Pro with additional Dynamic and Dynamic Pro, Enduro and Enduro Pro riding modes as well Dynamic Traction Control DTC. Hill Start Control, and ABS Pro cornering ABS are also a part of the Riding Modes Pro upgrade. Optional Dynamic ESA Next Generation not only automatically adapts to the situation depending on riding condition and aggression, but now features an automatic self-levelling function. BMW says there are also ergonomic options by way of numerous seat heights and seat variants. The R1200GS Exclusive features fuel tank side trim panels in Monolith metallic matt with clear over-painted deco elements, a front wheel splash guard and central fuel tank cover in Iced Chocolate metallic, a frame finished in Agate Grey metallic matt, a black drivetrain, and gold-finished brake calipers. BMW Motorrad always had the F 700 GS and the F 800 GS for those who did not quite want the big, burly R 1200 GS. But these two models were getting a bit too long in the tooth. Both models had grown old and needed a proper update. BMW Motorrad thought that it will do one better! The company decided to make the bikes all-new instead of barely updating them. BMW says that both bikes are different to each other in characteristics and will be targeted at different buyers. This makes them more purpose-oriented. BMW F 850 GS Both motorcycles get an all-new 853 cc parallel-twin engine! Yes a parallel-twin instead of BMW's preferred boxer-twins. The state of tune is different on both bikes though. The engine gets a 270 degree firing order which gives it a punchy character. Also, there are two balancing shafts, which intend to keep vibrations to a minimum. The engine is mated to a six-speed unit which comes along with an anti-hopping clutch. The engine makes bhp on the 850 and bhp on the 750. There is an all-new frame and a new suspension setup in play as well. According to BMW, the steel bridge frame integrates the engine better as opposed to the old frame on the 700 and the 800. The new frame of course is stiffer too. BMW is also offering a dynamic ESA electronic suspension which constantly adapts to the changing surface and adjusts the suspension. This is something similar to the Ducati's semi active skyhook suspension on the Multistrada 1200. The 850 weighs 229 kg while the 750 weighs 204 kg. BMW F 750 GS The bikes get ride-by-wire, which in turn offer two standard riding modes, Rain and Road. But certain optional packages will offer more riding modes such as Dynamic, Enduro and Enduro Pro F 850 GS only. The different modes have different settings for other electronics such as traction control, ABS and the electronic suspension as well. There is an all-new TFT instrumentation console with smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. Optionally, the customer could also choose to put features such as a quick-shifter, auto-blipper, cruise control, keyless riding, tyre pressure sensors and emergency call service. BMW will offer the F 750 GS in Standard and Exclusive variants while the F 850 GS will be offered in Standard, Exclusive and the Rallye variants.
